From Illustrator To FontLab

YouTube Preview Image

I’m back with a new FontLab tutorial, and this time it’s about something that’s been an issue for me for quite some time: the pen tool! (a.k.a. drawing tool). I really enjoy working with the pen tool in Adobe Illustrator because it’s so intuitive. However, the pen tool in FontLab is a completely different story. It’s really slow to work with, and sometimes it just doesn’t behave the way I want it to. In other words, I’m really annoyed with it. So, I did a little research on the Internet, and put together this tutorial to share my findings with you guys. Happy pen-fighting people!

Thank you so much for your Fontlab tutorials, they are very helpful. I bought the application a few years ago but was so intimidated by it that I never tested it out, but your tutorials are giving me new-found hope :-) I would love to have that illustrator file you mentioned and were gracious enough to share. Is it still available for download? Thanks again!

I’m glad I could help you out Lilian :) Yeah the Illustrator file can still be downloaded from the link in the sidebar when you open up the video in YouTube.

    Hi Jokke,
thanks so much for your great tutorials! I just downloaded the Illustrator file, but it keeps crashing my Illustrator – I’m using Illustrator 10 on Windows XP. It just shuts down the program whenever I try to open your file. I don’t know if other Win users have the same problem, I just thought I should let you know.
    Have a fontastic day!
