ISO50 now blogs!

GREAT NEWS! Scott Hansen is blogging! – And it seems like he really puts a lot of effort into replying to the many fans who post comments. I totally respect that, and hope he keeps it up. I will link to his blog here (and in the sidebar of my own blog).

I randomly browsed through some of the comments, and stumbled across this interesting reply about how he manages to balance his life (Scott himself):

There was a time when I didn’t do much else other than work. When I was younger I could get away with it, and since I was so obsessed with learning and evolving it wasn’t much of a question, it was really all I wanted to spend any of my time doing. These days I don’t do freelance anymore and don’t work for any agency or any full time gig like that so I have a lot more time to find balance and still focus on my work. I’ve also learned a lot and honed down my process in both music and design, so I tend to get things done much quicker these days and that helps a lot. But the truth is that the quantity of my music and design output probably suffer from each other. If I were ever truly able to focus for any extended period of time on one thing I might get more done (this is particularly true of music). But there is balance there, when I move from music to design or vice versa, it gives me a chance to clear my mind of the other and when I come back to it I have better perspective. So although the quantity may suffer, I believe the quality probably benefits.
A shorter answer would be; Workaholic: Yes; Sleep: Not so much and always during the wrong hours; Balance?: Probably not by most people’s standards but I’m working on it.

It’s really great to be able to read the experiences of this great artist. I will definitely watch his blog whenever he posts something new!

Things I’d LOVE to see him post onto his blog:

– Process sketches / brainstorm
– Sources of inspiration
– Pics / video of him working (YouTube link!)
