Tirsdag og onsdag (16-17 marts) var Anders og jeg et smut i Comwell Kellers Park i Brejning til en fantastisk og anderledes workshop, hvor vi skulle hjælpe deltagerne med at sætte billeder på deres ord, og til sidst samle det hele i en række overskuelige præsentationer. Carsten Borch (også bedre kendt som Idékaptajnen) ledte slagets gang sammen med Lykke og Pierre, og vi var blevet hevet med ombord som “hjælperyttere”. Det var to meget intense dage, som bød på alt fra benhårdt og koncentreret arbejde, til ren nydelse i et helt igennem fantastisk spa-bad efterfulgt af en fornem middag, som kun et 5-stjernet konferencehotel kan tilberede den!

Here’s the setup: Shaun (Zeashaun Aslam Rana) wanted an animation for a trailer he was putting together. He hired my “friend” Thorbjørn for the job, and Thorbjørn then hired me because he couldn’t do the job alone. Together, these two idiots tricked me into working for them for free. Because I was hired by Thorbjørn and not Shaun, I could only go after Thorbjørn in case something went wrong… and something DID go wrong!

I spent about a year calling and texting Thorbjørn, asking to get payed for my two months of hard work, but without any luck. All he kept saying was, that he would soon get the money from Shaun and so on and so forth. It was one of the most frustrating experiences I’ve ever had. In the end, Ivan at my office was generous enough to help me out, so he hired a lawyer on my behalf. Three months went by, and finally the case was settled.

They investigated the financial background of Thorbjørn, only to find out that he was absolutely broke and on the dole. In conclusion: no money for me. I’m almost certain that Shaun payed Thorbjørn unofficially, but I guess we’ll never know. I wont let Thorbjørn get away with this without proper punishment, so I’m gonna try my damnedest to have him registered in the Danish RKI register. That way, others can look him up and avoid making any kind of deal with him. He simply can’t be trusted at all!

Unfortunately I wasn’t the only one they tricked. Christian (who was hired by Thorbjørn just like me) also did a lot of hard work without ever getting payed. I think both Christian and I have learned our lesson.

Oh and just as a side note: DO NOT watch the movie Westbrick Murders. I haven’t seen it, but judging from the plot, it sounds like a really bad movie full of typical American clichés. No thanks! So don’t waste your precious time devouring this piece of ape shit produced by the so-called director Shaun Aslam Rana. He’s nothing but a Robert Rodriguez wannabe. There you have it!

Update (23-01-10): Now Shaun Rana plans on suing me, claiming that I’ve violated the contract. I have the contract right here, and I can’t really seem to put my finger on where exactly this violation would be. Hmm. How about he spent the money paying us for our hard work instead of spending it on expensive lawyers?

Nikolaj Hygebjerg from Rødding Højskole (a folk high school) contacted me a while ago, asking if I was interested in a job at the school. We arranged a meeting, and today my good friend Anders and I went to check out the place. Nikolaj gave us a tour, and I was really impressed by the old buildings. It’s actually the world’s oldest folk high school! I just love the vibe you get from old buildings and the many stories they contain. It was quite the experience to see the place, and I can only imagine what it must be like to teach at a place like that. I’m so excited :) Anders and I will be teaching the Adobe package to the students there come April next year.

Anyways, we went into the library to work a little bit on some other projects, when suddenly I stumbled upon an old photo album. The photos inside were really great, so I just had to bring out my camera and capture some of the most interesting ones. Oh, if any of you guys can translate the text below the photos, be my guest :)

Tomorrow will be the last day of the Go-Card I illustrated for Visit Kolding. It’s been out in cafes for a week then, which was the amount of “run time” Visit Kolding paid for. I’m really excited to see how many Go-Cards were actually taken. We’ll know by looking at the amount of cards that are returned to Visit Kolding. Hopefully none :)

Hey folkens! Nu kan I finde mit Go-Card rundt omkring på caféer osv. rundt omkring i Danmark. Kampagnen kører fra torsdag til torsdag, så det er bare med at snuppe et eksemplar imens der stadig er nogle tilbage ;) Ved frokost-tid smuttede jeg lige ind forbi Visit Kolding og tog et lille stak kort til mig selv. Så nu vil jeg sende nogle af dem rundt til venner og bekendte!
