I finally decided to do something about the messy folder structure of my blog. In the earlier versions of WordPress, whenever the blogger uploaded a file, it would be placed in the root of the wp-content folder. Fortunately that has been changed now, so that whenever you upload a file through the controlpanel of your blog, it will automatically end up in wp-content/uploads/year/month (current year and current month of the upload). That’s really nice, however – for those of us who uploaded a LOT of files using an early version of WordPress it’s not so nice. I just spent a lot of time manually moving the old upload to a new folder ind the uploads folder called “uncategorized”. Before doing so, I browsed the issue on various forums, but couldn’t find a solution. Anyway, now my wp-content folder is nice and clean :)
