Workspace in Photoshop. This is basically how I did it: I had the reference image, a zoomed in canvas and an overview canvas.
About this project
My father turned 50 the 7th of December, so I decided to portray him. It’s the first time I’ve ever made a portrait of my father, so I really wanted to make a nice one.
I drew it using my Wacom and had a reference photo of my dad next to it. The Photoshop document measures 50 x 70 cm (300 dpi) so it took a lot of resources of my computer to work with it.
At the bottom of the “poster” I’ve written: “50 * y todavía fuerte! Cada línea en este retrato representa un deséo de que tienes un futuro feliz. Te quiero papa! – tu hijo“. Look it up in a dictionary :)
