Mac optical drive won’t burn DVD’s

A while back my MacBook Pro was having difficulties reading and burning DVD’s, and I remember thinking to myself: “oh no here we go… another expensive repair coming up!” — but then I fired up Safari and did a google search on the matter. It turned out that several people had luck with running a cleaning disc through their buggy drives. So I went down and bought myself a cleaning disc, popped it into my drive, let i spin for a while and whoop-de-doo, that did the trick! So, if you’re out there with a MacBook Pro (or I guess any kind of computer) that has difficulties with burning or reading discs, it’s definitely worth a try to throw in a cleaning disc and let it spin for a minute or two.
