3 Framed Posters

With a gift certificate that I won several months ago (photo competition), I decided to frame these lovely posters to protect them as much as possible. Don’t they just look awesome?! — and they’re not even on the wall yet! Thanks to Gallery Avanti for doing such a great job framing them.

Left: ISO50 — Ghostly 10 (buy it). Middle: A poster I found at a market next to The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood in St. Petersburg, Russia. Right: ISO50 — Coastal Brake (buy it).

Funny Tutorials: The Goal

In May 2006 I got the idea for a concept, which I’ve been working on ever since. The idea is basically to make a series of “tutorials”, explaining in a fun way, how to do all sorts of weird stuff, like for instance: “How to destroy your frying pan and not feel sad about it“, “How to draw childishly” and “How to write a letter if you’re blind” just to name a few of the 29 already made tutorials. They’re in Danish, so unless Google comes up with an insane algorithm that translates text embedded in images, you’ll have to appreciate the tutorials for their visual appeal only. Sorry world.

I’ve thought about changing the name from Tutorial to Guide, which is more of a Danish word than the word Tutorial. Also it’s shorter, and I like short words!

My goal is to create no less than 100 of these “tutorials”, and as you can see in the graphics above, I’m sort of getting there… slowly (considering that I began this adventure in mid 2006). I have a lot of ideas for new ones, but stuff takes time. It’s a hobby thing, so I’m not rushing it in any way. When I reach 100, I’ll then spend some time gathering all the tutorials and give them a general “overhaul” to perfect the details before contacting a major publisher. They would sure make for an awesome book…

Cykellygter

The Connected Poster Worldwide

Since we created The Connected Poster in September 2009, and began selling it online right here, people have generally shown great interest in the process and the final output, and for that we’re obviously very happy! Thank you very much for the support and all the great comments!

The first posters were sold in a limited edition of 73 (signed and numbered), and we’re pleased to announce that we’ve sold all of them. Didn’t get one? No worries! We still have posters in stock, so be sure to visit the store and get yours today!

And now to the point of this blog post…

Since the poster has been shipped to so many different places around the world (England, Scotland, France, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, Germany, USA, Netherlands, Portugal, South Africa and Denmark), we here at Barq thought it would be an interesting idea to create a series of visual “stories” from everyone who’s ordered the poster. First of all, we’re doing this to thank you guys for buying the poster. Secondly, we’re just so darn curious to see what the poster looks like outside our office and in the real world! Enough said. Here are some of the photos we’ve received so far. (Keep ’em coming folks! We love what we’re seeing):
