Well, not quite unknown actually. I’m on the island Fanø positioned on the west coast of southern Denmark. Today I walked along the beach with my point and shoot camera, and took various pictures of snow covered sand. The images above have been processed in Photoshop using curves, black and white conversion and a simple invert. To me, the end result looks like something out of a sci-fi movie or images from a NASA satelite, hence the title. Who would’ve thought that outer space was actually here on earth?

Awesome textures and gradients. Especially love the first one. Is the last one a wave and a cloud?

Absolutely beautiful. While I looked through the pictures I wondered where you got the interesting stock photos of space… Needless to say I was surprised and impressed when I read your description of their source! Great work turning a walk on the beach into an alien adventure.
